Recent updates of Covid-19 in Dominica –
As per the surveillance published on 3rd Ap 2020, Dominica has 11 confirmed cases and zero deaths.
National Epidemiologist, Dr. Shalludin Ahmed reported at a press briefing, that on 3rd Apr 2020 two new cases are contacts of case 3. The 3 cases were reported, on 30th Mar 2020, to have come from Concord in the Marigot area.
According to Dr. Ahmed, nine (9) of the 14 cases reported so far are male and five (5) are female. He added that five (5) of the patients have chronic conditions, however, all patients are stable. In total there have been 255 COVID tests completed in Dominica.
The first case was confirmed on 1st Mar 2020. The first cases confirmed was a 62-year-old Italian tourist who entered the country on 22nd Feb 2020. On 6th Mar 2020, the second case in the country was confirmed as a Canadian tourist was detected. On 8th Mar 2020, three more cases were confirmed from Dominican tourists that came from a trip to Italy.
